Scholarships

Over the years, LULAC Council 402 has given close to $500,000 to deserving students within the greater Houston area.  

Who is eligible?

LNSF Award Criteria: Applicants are eligible for the following 3 types of scholarship awards.

1. National Scholastic Achievement Awards ($2,000)
• GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale or equivalent, and if the student is an entering freshman.
• 29 or higher on the ACT test, or 1350 or higher on the SAT test.

2. Honors Awards ($500 to $2,000)
• GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale or equivalent, and if the student is an entering freshman.
• 23 or higher on the ACT test, or 1100 or higher on the SAT test.

3. General Awards ($250 to $1,000)
• Grades and academic performance will serve as indicators of potential; however, an emphasis may be placed on the individuals motivation, sincerity, and community involvement.


LNSF Application

The LULAC National Scholarship Fund application is now available, please click LULAC Scholarship Application to download. Applications are due March 31st to a local participating LULAC Council in your area. A list of all participating LULAC Councils will be available online on March 1st.

Scholarship Timeline

  • March 1: Deadline for Partnership Agreements and funds from LULAC Councils
  • March 31: Deadline for student applications to LULAC Councils
  • April 1: Participating LULAC Councils are notified of supplementation fund
  • June 15: Applicants notified of scholarship award by local LULAC Council
  • July 15: First scholarship disbursement to be received by participating Councils
  • January 15: Second scholarship disbursement to be received by Councils


LULAC 402 Requisitos de Becas

Los solicitantes son elegibles para los siguientes 3 tipos de becas.

1. Premios al Logro Nacional Scholastic ($ 2,000)

• GPA de 3.5 o más en una escala de 4.0 o su equivalente, y si el estudiante es un estudiante de primer año entrante.

LNESC and LULAC provide a number of important scholarship opportunities; they include awards that range in award amount and have varying eligibility criteria. Some scholarships are available to all post-secondary students regardless of major and others are available to students pursuing specific degrees.
